What Do I Take Photos Of?

One question I often get asked is what do I take photos of?

That’s not a simple answer.

If I was given the choice I would always choose portraits of individuals.  An object sits there while a person lives in a photograph. I love that emotion can be captured forever.

What I take the most of are photos of wherever I’m at. This is mostly buildings and interesting objects and sometimes events. I especially enjoy the detail that can be found in run down industrial areas.

The photos that have become my best work, and my current favorite photographs, are macro photos of interesting objects taken as large as possible. I am always looking for new objects that look good super small.
